SUMMARY:The Time Travelers Bring Classic Rock With a Southern Flair to Big Creek Winery
DESCRIPTION:Classic rock with a Southern flair comes to Big Creek Winery Saturday\, Sept. 19\, when The Time Travelers take the stage for a free concert from 6:30-9:30 p.m. \nDon Parker\, Rob Malone\, David Casteel and Joey Flippen make up The Time Travelers\, a four-piece band whose music draws heavily from Southern and classic rock favorites. Audiences can expect music from artists such as the Allman Brothers Band\, ZZ Top\, Lynyrd Skynyrd\, Tom Petty\, Dire Straits and the Rolling Stones. \nWhile The Time Travelers have been together as a band for about two years\, the four musicians have been crossing musical paths and playing together off and on for more than 40 years. Their roots run through the rich music culture of the Shoals\, and each brings his own interesting history to the group. \nParker is a retired architect and owner of Shoals Guitar Boutique\, a vintage guitar shop in Muscle Shoals. Flippen formerly owned Pegasus Records\, the well-known Shoals-area record store familiar to generations of music fans. Malone\, a well-known and sought-after guitarist\, was a founding member of Drive-By Truckers. Casteel\, a lifelong drummer and recently retired NASA engineer\, has performed with numerous bands throughout the area. \nTogether\, those decades of experience translate into the kind of relaxed\, seasoned musicianship that fits naturally with the music they play — guitar-driven classic rock with deep Southern roots. \nThe Sept. 19 performance is part of Big Creek Winery’s continuing series of free live music events. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic and lawn chairs\, find a spot and spend the evening enjoying live music at the winery. Wine will be available for purchase. \nThe concert is free and open to the public. Big Creek Winery is located at 1900 Crescent View Road in Pulaski\, Tennessee.
