Nestled in the scenic countryside, Big Creek Winery offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where you can not only enjoy great wine but also learn exactly how it’s made—from grape to glass.

Meet Your Guide: Billy Brymer

The heart and soul of the winery tour is none other than Billy Brymer, owner and winemaker at Big Creek. With a passion for the craft and a talent for storytelling, Billy personally leads the tour and shares his deep knowledge of the winemaking process. From how the grapes are sourced to the careful fermentation and bottling steps, Billy makes every part of the tour accessible, interesting, and fun—even if you’re brand new to wine.

You’ll get to visit the production room, where the real magic happens. The air smells like crushed grapes and oak barrels, and you can see the stainless steel tanks and the tools of the trade up close. It’s a rare, authentic look behind the scenes—far more than what you get from just a tasting.

Plan Ahead and Stay Awhile

The winery is open for tastings and tours, but we recommend calling ahead to plan your visit. This ensures that Billy is available to give you the full tour and walk-through. You’ll want to take your time here, so don’t rush the experience.

Start with the tour, then settle in for a complimentary tasting of Big Creek’s handcrafted wines. Try favorites like Muscadine, Blackberry, or a classic dry red—each one made on-site with care. Pair your tasting with a snack from the tasting room, where you’ll find cheese, crackers, soft drinks, and convenience items. Or better yet—bring your own picnic! You’re welcome to spread out on the patio or on the scenic grounds and enjoy your lunch with a glass of your favorite bottle.
